CADA R Street Area Implementation Plan

The 2002 State legislation that extended CADA’s boundaries to the central section of the R Street Corridor (R Street Area)  requires CADA prepare , in cooperation with the City of Sacramento, an appropriate plan for the development and redevelopment of the R Street Area that furthers the objectives of the Capitol Area Plan.

To address the R Street Legislation requirement, CADA staff drafted the CADA R Street Area Implementation Plan.  The scope of this document includes:

  • An analysis of the specific legislative mandates with which CADA must comply  in the R Street Area;

  • The Historic context and existing conditions of the R Street Area;

  • A discussion of how CADA’s role in the R Street Area will differ from its role in the Capitol Area;

  • A review of past planning activities for R Street and current policy documents;

  • The goals, programs, and strategic policies for development and redevelopment activities within the CADA R Street project area;

  • Affordable housing requirements and policies.
