R Street Special Planning District (Zoning)

Land use development standards for the R Street Corridor are regulated by a special district within the City of Sacramento Zoning Code.  The R Street Special Planning District (SPD) regulates standards such as specific land uses, height, setbacks, density, and parking.

Special Planning District Proposed Amendments
City planning staff has proposed a number of amendments to the R Street SPD to help facilitate development of the Corridor.  These amendments were brought to the City Planning Commission on July 27, 2006. The Commission asked city staff to conduct additional outreach regarding the proposed height and setbacks changes. City staff plans to review public input this Fall 2006 and Winter 2007.

Project Update
January 24, 2007 - A review of the November public meeting and a discussion of a new proposal will be discussed at a public meeting on Thursday, February 1, 2007, @ 6:00PM.  The meeting will be held at the New CalPERS Office building in the Community room located on the ground floor at the corner of 4th and R Streets.
